A Ascensão dos negros Americanos

The fact of the Constitution of a country to say that all men are equal and have equal rights, not in itself guarantee the desired equality of opportunity. In Brazil, we know well the gulf between what the law says and reality more vivida.Nos United States of America, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 abolished the legal instruments that supported racial segregation, and in 1965, the Act's guarantee right to vote, eliminated the mechanisms that prevented blacks from voting.
Only then is it legal support affirmative action as quotas to ensure that teachers and students of racial minorities could be implemented, promoting social inclusion.
Currently, the conquest of space of the American Negro and his rise in the social scale are evidenced by the successful presence of Barack Obama's presidential campaign. Although her personal story is not linked to racial strife American, fifty years ago the expectation of a black man occupy the top job in the White House would be considered by many a delusion.
O fato da Constituição de um país dizer que todos os homens são iguais e têm os mesmos direitos, não garante por si só a desejada igualdade de oportunidades. No Brasil, conhecemos bem o abismo entre o que diz a Lei maior e a realidade vivida.Nos Estados Unidos, a Lei dos Direitos Civis, de 1964, aboliu os instrumentos legais que apoiavam a segregação racial e, em 1965, a Lei de garantia do direito ao voto, eliminou os mecanismos que impediam os negros de votar.
Só a partir desse apoio legal é que ações afirmativas como as que garantem cotas para professores e estudantes de minorias raciais puderam ser implementadas, promovendo inclusão social.
Atualmente, a conquista de espaço do negro americano e sua ascensão na escala social são evidenciadas pela presença bem sucedida de Barack Obama na disputa presidencial. Embora sua história pessoal não esteja ligada às lutas raciais americanas, há cinqüenta anos a expectativa de um negro ocupar o principal posto da Casa Branca seria considerada por muitos um delírio.
